About Canberra Occupational Therapy

David is an occupational therapist who graduated in 2014 from Curtin University in Western Australia. He has worked in the ACT region since 2015. David has experience in both paediatric and adult occupational therapy.

When working with children he uses a play based developmental approach to help. Developmental play-based paediatric occupational therapy uses play as the primary tool to support a child’s growth in key areas such as motor skills, sensory processing, social interaction, and problem-solving. By engaging children in enjoyable, meaningful activities David tries to create a safe and motivating environment where skills develop naturally through exploration, creativity, and imagination—helping children participate more fully in daily life and reach their developmental potential.

When working with adult, David has experience with supporting people to live safely, independently, and with the highest possible quality of life. Services can include assistive technology (AT) assessments to match the right equipment to a person’s needs, minor home modifications to improve safety and accessibility, functional capacity assessments to guide care planning and support NDIS reviews, and tailored therapy programs to build or maintain everyday skills. The focus is on practical, personalised solutions that make daily activities easier and more meaningful.
